My name is Amanda Hoff and I, too, am a skydiver (go figure!)... I just started jumping in June of this year, and so far I have just over 50 jumps, my "A" CoP, and the "packing bitch" title. I even got talked into competing in the Provincials (less than a week after I got my Solo), and had a blast!

My interests are in all aspects of jumping (well except packing, who likes to do that?) be it RW (or FS if you prefer) CRW, Birdman, FF, whatever.
I'm still too new to the sport to give specific disciplines that I prefer (pretty much everything I try is still new and exciting!), but I can say that so far I have yet to try something that I haven't enjoyed. Yes, even packing hasn't lost its appeal for me yet... strangely enough, I actually find it relaxing in a way. Besides, the frantic frenzy of a mass student-gear packing session is probably the best exercise I get in a week!
I enjoy planning/organizing, and being involved in multiple aspects of the things I'm passionate about - hence my involvement in the SPCO thus far. I am a Social Director for the SPCO at present, which came out of having worked on sponsorship and planning of the social aspects of the Provincials this year.
As for life (or what passes for it) away from the DZ, I am a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo. I enjoy short walks on the beach (long ones are just tiring!) and stargazing on clear nights. I love cheese, garlic, and ice cream; I've even tried garlic ice cream, although never with cheese. My favourite punctuation mark is the semicolon.
My friends like me because I love to cook and bake, but usually only want to eat a little bit of what I bake (making me a great person to have around when inspiration strikes!). I have a black belt in karate, an extremely diverse taste in music, and a pair of bright multi-coloured striped knee-high socks in my sock drawer.
I look forward to getting to know you all and I hope that you all end up liking me, because I don't expect to be leaving the sport any time soon so you're pretty much stuck with me!
